Our Pastors
We deny the role of Shepherd in Christ himself, who defines himself as "the good Shepherd" in John 10:11, saying, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
Shepherds are chosen to be guardians and mentors of God's flock. The Apostle Peter wrote to us in 1 Peter 5:2-3 to take care of the flock of God, saying: "Feed the flock of God that is among you; shepherd it not under compulsion, but willingly, as for God; not for vile gain , but with diligence; neither as ruling over the flock entrusted to you, but as showing an example to the flock."
Pastors are chosen by God to lead and guide God's Chosen. In 2 Timothy 4:2, the apostle Paul calls Timothy, saying, "'Preach the word, exhort in season and out of season, rebuke, rebuke, exhort with much patience and constant teaching.' 2 Timothy 4:2." Our pastors are dedicated to the preaching of God's word, spiritual guidance and prayer for the Saints. Ephesians 4:11-12 says: "And he gave some to be apostles, others prophets, others evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ."
